Aliff Aziz to star in Mansur & Liu musical theatre production

Actor and singer Aliff Aziz is set to play the role of Sultan Mansur Shah in the upcoming musical theatre production, "Mansur & Liu." The production, directed by M. Nasir and organized by Roman Abadi with Icon Entertainment, is scheduled to perform at Istana Budaya from September 10 to 20.

Following remarks by M. Nasir describing him as the "second most handsome actor in Malaysia," Aliff Aziz dismissed the comments as a joke, stating his primary focus is on character commitment and talent rather than physical appearance. He emphasized that the selection was based on an audition process involving singing, acting, and movement.

Actor Ammar Alfian has defended the casting choice, arguing that Aliff's past personal controversies should not disqualify him from professional opportunities. Ammar stated that evaluations should be based on talent and ability, advising social media users to focus on self-improvement rather than criticizing others' lives. The musical will feature 30 songs and an original musical score composed by M. Nasir.
