Aliff Daniel ordered to undergo three-month faith rehabilitation

A Gombak Barat Shariah lower court has ordered 21-year-old Aliff Daniel Adli to undergo a three-month faith rehabilitation programme at the Pusat Pemurnian Akidah Baitul Iman in Hulu Yam. The order follows his guilty plea to charges of deviant worship.

According to the court, the offence occurred on January 24, 2024, at a temple in Batu Caves. Aliff was accused of performing rituals that included holding religious artefacts from another faith, body piercing, and kneeling before a statue.

Shariah judge Mohd Faizal Habib noted that the act constituted a serious offence involving syirik, or polytheism. The judge advised the defendant to seek sincere repentance, emphasizing that the offence concerned his fundamental Islamic faith and belief in the oneness of Allah.
