Alight acquires 2GW Swedish solar and energy storage pipeline
Alight, a Nordic independent power producer, has acquired a portfolio of 40 utility-scale solar PV projects in southern Sweden from Soltech Energy Solutions. The acquired projects have a combined planned solar capacity of approximately 2GW and are situated across Sweden’s SE3 and SE4 electricity price areas.
The portfolio includes options for co-located battery energy storage systems (BESS) at most sites. Following the acquisition, Alight will manage the continued development of these projects, including grid connection work and permitting, to move them toward ready-to-build status.
This transaction, involving Soltech Energy Solutions (a subsidiary of Soltech Energy Sweden), was completed after receiving approval from Sweden’s Inspectorate of Strategic Products (ISP). The deal expands Alight’s solar and energy storage development pipeline in the Nordic region to over 5GW.
