Alihan Kuriş investigation sees new witness claims regarding FETÖ and Denizolgun

Witness testimonies have been entered into ongoing investigations conducted by the Ankara and Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices regarding Alihan Kuriş and the death of former Minister of Transport Arif Ahmet Denizolgun.

In the Ankara investigation into the Alihan Kuriş criminal organization, businessman M. K. testified that Denizolgun once mentioned receiving a letter from Fetullah Gülen proposing cooperation, which Denizolgun reportedly declined by stating, ‘We stand by our state.’

Regarding the investigation into Denizolgun’s death, witness Y. K. alleged that Denizolgun’s passing was suspicious. The witness claimed that Alihan Kuriş and his mother, Ayşe Gülderen, sought to lead the religious community due to financial ambitions, suggesting that Denizolgun’s death was the only way for Kuriş to achieve that leadership. Another witness, R. Ş., claimed that Kuriş was managed by FETÖ and that both Kuriş and his mother had disparaged Denizolgun to influence him.
