Aliko Dangote Foundation launches IPO grant for 2 million Nigerian women

The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has launched the Women’s Share Subscription Grant Initiative, a financial inclusion programme designed to support up to two million vulnerable Nigerian women. The initiative aims to facilitate participation in the upcoming Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE (DPRP).

The programme targets low- and middle-income earners, verified participants in specific ADF programmes, non-commissioned servicewomen, and service widows. It offers two distinct pathways: a Matching Grant Track, where eligible applicants subscribing to at least 10 shares receive an additional 10 shares funded by the ADF, and an Unconditional Grant Track, where the foundation funds an application for 20 shares for qualifying beneficiaries.

By providing access to equity ownership in one of Africa’s largest industrial projects, the ADF seeks to promote long-term wealth creation and increase female participation in Nigeria’s capital market. The initiative is intended to democratize investment opportunities in the energy sector, which has traditionally been dominated by institutional and high-net-worth investors.
