Alimenterre Festival returns to France with documentary screenings

The 20th edition of the Alimenterre documentary film festival is scheduled to run from October 15 to November 30, 2026. The festival focuses on critical issues regarding food production, consumption, and resource preservation, including food sovereignty, water access, the impact of pesticides on biodiversity, and sustainable fishing.

In Tarnos, the event will feature various activities such as film screenings, debates, and workshops. Notable programming includes the film ‘Insecticide’, which examines how agrochemicals affect insect populations, and ‘Outre-mer, terres de solutions’, which highlights local initiatives for resilient agriculture. Other sessions will address water preservation and citizen mobilization.

Across other regions, such as the Vosges, local collectives are organizing numerous projections to raise awareness in rural areas. The festival is supported by various local organizations, including the CMR and municipal partners, to promote discussions on more just and environmentally respectful food systems.
