Alina Habba denies running for White House press secretary role

Alina Habba, a former acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey and lawyer for Donald Trump, has denied speculation that she is a candidate to succeed White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Despite being a betting favorite on the prediction market platform Kalshi, Habba stated on X that she is ‘not in the running for any job’ and dismissed reports of her candidacy as ‘fake news.’

Leavitt is scheduled to depart her role at the end of August to spend more time with her family. Following Habba’s denial, her probability of securing the position on Kalshi dropped significantly. Current market trends indicate that CNN commentator Scott Jennings has emerged as a leading candidate, followed by White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly.
