Alina Johnson tours DIF Querétaro shelters

Car Herrera de Kuri, president of the Patronato del Sistema Estatal DIF, hosted Alina Johnson, wife of the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald D. Johnson, for a tour of state-run shelters in Querétaro.

The visit included the ‘Dos Corazones’ shelter, which provides lodging, food, and specialized medical care for up to 25 pregnant women and their companions from pregnancy through the postpartum period. The facility supports women receiving care at the Hospital de Especialidades del Niño y la Mujer or local health centers.

They also visited the ‘Naña’ shelter, which accommodates families of patients hospitalized in public hospitals. Johnson recognized the importance of the services provided to vulnerable families, particularly for prenatal care and support for mothers of newborns with health complications.
