Alina Schmiedgen nominated for German Radio Prize 2026 as Best Newcomer

Alina Schmiedgen, the 26‑year‑old host of the daily "Radio TEDDY‑Familiennachmittag" on Radio TEDDY, has been nominated for the German Radio Prize 2026 in the Best Newcomer category. The independent nomination committee of the Grimme Institute selected her as one of the top 15 emerging talents in German radio.

The award ceremony will take place on 10 September 2026 at the Musical Theater an der Elbe in Hamburg. Schmiedgen is praised for her cross‑media formats such as "Unboxing", "Abendessen ohne Stressen" and the "Tierische Quiz", which engage both children and parents. Radio TEDDY programme chief Roland Lehmann highlighted her as a "360‑degree radio maker" who combines presenting, editorial work, storytelling and social‑media integration.
