Alison Hammond discusses vulnerability after live TV panic attack
Television presenter Alison Hammond has spoken about feeling in a “vulnerable place” following a recent medical episode during a live broadcast of This Morning. While the incident initially caused fears of a heart attack after she was seen clutching her chest and struggling to breathe, Hammond later clarified that she had suffered a “massive panic attack”.
Due to the episode, Hammond was unable to attend the Attitude Awards in person. Her long-time friend Kate Lawler accepted the “Honorary Gay” award on her behalf at the London ceremony. In a speech read by Lawler, Hammond expressed gratitude to the LGBTQ+ community and thanked her co-host, Dermot O’Leary, for his support during the incident, jokingly referring to him as “the gayest straight man I know”.
