Alistair Overeem and Rico Verhoeven Discuss Mixed‑Rules Trilogy Starting with Boxing Bout in Amsterdam

Former UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem and kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven are reportedly negotiating a three‑fight series that would span boxing, mixed‑martial arts and kickboxing. The first bout is being floated as a boxing match at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam, though no promoter, broadcast partner or date has been confirmed.

The fighters originally planned a GLORY kickboxing clash in 2021, which was cancelled after Overeem suffered a back injury. Since then, Verhoeven has taken a step into boxing, most recently facing Oleksandr Usyk, and Overeem says there is still a “score to settle.” Discussions are being handled by Black Book PR, but both camps have emphasized that nothing is official yet.
