Alix Didier Fils-Aimé pledges fight against corruption and gang violence in Haiti
Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé has reaffirmed his government's commitment to combating corruption and restoring democratic order. During the 22nd anniversary of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC), Fils-Aimé emphasized that fighting corruption is essential for justice, governance, and the functioning of the state, describing it as a grave threat to national interest and popular sovereignty.
At the ceremony, ULCC Director General Goethie Varnelle Morency presented a three-year plan focused on strengthening internal governance, operational capacities, investigation mechanisms, and prevention efforts. The Prime Minister pledged government support to help the ULCC enhance public administration integrity and state resource management.
Beyond anti-corruption efforts, Fils-Aimé is focused on addressing the country's complex security crisis. His administration aims to reclaim state control from armed gangs and establish the necessary conditions for citizens to regain freedom of movement and participate in democratic elections.
