Aliye Nilperi Vatandost detained in drug and prostitution probe

Aliye Nilperi Vatandost has been detained as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and prostitution involving several high-profile individuals. Vatandost is identified as the partner of Behruz Vatandost, the founder of Vatan Plastik, a prominent Turkish industrial group specializing in plastic manufacturing and packaging.

The detention has brought renewed attention to Vatandost’s past connections. In 2019, she was photographed at a restaurant in Istanbul alongside former AK Party lawmaker Burhan Kuzu and Iranian drug lord Naci Şerifi Zindaşti. Regarding that meeting, Vatandost previously stated that she had introduced Zindaşti to Kuzu under the impression that the latter intended to invest in Turkey, but she severed ties after discovering his illegal activities and subsequently filed a criminal complaint against him.
