Aliye Yavru uses knitting passion to support street animals

Aliye Yavru, a 72-year-old resident of Karabük, has spent 60 years pursuing her passion for knitting. She uses her craft to decorate the trees in her garden with handmade knitted covers and to support local street animals.

Yavru, who began her journey in needlework at the age of 12, creates a variety of items including flowers, keychains, toys, prayer rugs, and embroidery. The income generated from selling these handmade products is used to cover food and veterinary expenses for street animals. She has been decorating the trees in her garden for approximately 10 years, noting that the covers do not prevent the trees from breathing.
