Aljamain Sterling recalls Cory Sandhagen's post-fight reaction

Aljamain Sterling recently shared a recollection of his encounter with Cory Sandhagen following their UFC 250 bout in June 2020. After Sterling secured a victory via a rear-naked choke in under 90 seconds, he encountered Sandhagen in a courtyard later that evening. Sterling noted that Sandhagen, despite having previously offered congratulations, told him, ‘Congrats, you f*cking asshole.’ Sterling expressed that he found the reaction fair given the competitive nature of the fight.

The discussion also touched upon sportsmanship in mixed martial arts, specifically regarding Andre Fili at UFC Vegas 122. Sterling praised Fili for showing restraint after scoring a head kick knockout against Kai Kamaka III, noting that Fili stopped himself from delivering further strikes once he realized his opponent was unconscious. Sterling contrasted this with his own experience suffering a knockout loss against Marlon Moraes.
