Alkaloid CEO discusses growth at Macedonian Stock Exchange Conference

During the 25th Macedonian Stock Exchange Conference, Zivko Mukaetov, CEO and President of the Board of Alkaloid AD Skopje, discussed the company’s growth and the role of the capital market. In a session titled ‘Experience of a Macedonian Blue-Chip Company,’ Mukaetov highlighted the importance of transparency, innovation, and internationalization for sustainable growth.

Mukaetov noted that the pharmaceutical industry is highly dynamic and strictly regulated, requiring decisions based on rigorous analysis. He cited several strategic milestones from his 27-year career, including obtaining EU marketing authorization, digital transformation through SAP implementation, and the establishment of Alkaloid INT in Ljubljana as a hub for the European Union.

A key strategic move mentioned was the decision to invest in the production of cephalosporins rather than beta-lactams. This shift has positioned Alkaloid as the largest producer of cephalosporins in Europe and Eurasia by production volume.
