AEW Collision schedule shift pits show against TNA Impact as ratings split between Dynamite decline and Collision rise

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced that its weekly Collision program will move to Thursday evenings in July, putting the show head‑to‑head with TNA iMPACT on July 2 and July 30. The change is tied to the launch of TNT Boxing, which will occupy the usual Saturday slot, and may lead to further pre‑emptions unless Collision shifts to TBS. A second Thursday airing on July 30 will be taped live from Detroit. The scheduling adjustment also aligns with WWE’s SummerSlam weekend, raising the possibility of repeated Thursday clashes with TNA.

TV ratings data show a contrasting performance for AEW’s two flagship shows. Dynamite’s June 3 episode attracted an average of 638,000 viewers, a 9 % drop overall and a 27 % decline in the key 18‑49 demo, partly due to competition from the NBA Finals. In contrast, the June 6 Collision broadcast drew about 496,000 viewers, up 29 % week‑over‑week, with its demo rating rising to 0.08, the best in months.

Ahead of the Forbidden Door pay‑per‑view on June 28, AEW announced several title matches for upcoming Dynamite and Collision episodes, including a women’s “Survival of the Fittest” tournament for the vacant TBS Championship, TNT Championship defenses, and a CMLL Women’s World Championship bout. The promotion also secured Dios Azul Tequila as the official tequila partner for the Forbidden Door event.
