AEW faces uncertainty amid Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery merger

The potential merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery is creating uncertainty regarding the future of All Elite Wrestling (AEW). While AEW President Tony Khan has expressed confidence in the development, noting a personal friendship with Paramount CEO David Ellison, industry analysts suggest the outcome remains a “wild card.”

Potential implications include the possibility of AEW appearing on CBS or securing new streaming rights through a combined HBO Max and Paramount+ platform. However, concerns exist regarding the influence of TKO Executive Chairman Ari Emanuel, who maintains close ties to Ellison and whose organization manages AEW’s primary rival, WWE.

Amidst these corporate shifts, AEW continues to expand its roster. Former WWE and TNA wrestler Jakara Jackson, also known as Mara Sade, has reportedly signed a full-time, salaried deal with the promotion.
