All Japan Karate Federation donates funds to vaccine support
The All Japan Karate Federation (AJKF) has donated 279,440 yen to the Vaccination for Children Japan Committee (JCV) following the Karate Week 2026 tournament. The donation amount was calculated by converting points earned by young participants—ranging from kindergarten to elementary school age—into monetary value at a rate of 20 yen per point.
During a visit to the Japan Karate Kaikan on September 28, 2026, JCV Chairperson Mutsuo Kenmochi presented a letter of appreciation to AJKF President Yoshihiro Sasagawa. The initiative aims to connect the efforts of young athletes to global health causes, teaching children that their personal achievements can contribute to the well-being of children in need of vaccines in other parts of the world.
President Sasagawa emphasized the educational value of the program, noting that it encourages children to strive not just for personal victory, but to act for the benefit of others. The AJKF intends to continue this social contribution activity through its sporting events.
