All Japan Karate Federation holds technical workshop for women

The All Japan Karate Federation held a technical and referee training workshop for female members in Osaka. The event, hosted at Higashiosaka University Keiai High School, aimed to support the professional development and advancement of women within the sport.

In a first-time initiative, the workshop was held concurrently with dan (rank) examinations and referee examinations. This allowed participants to immediately apply their technical learning toward obtaining official certifications and higher ranks. The technical sessions included instructors from various styles, including Itō-ryū, Gōjū-ryū, Wadō-ryū, and Shotokan.

The federation plans to continue this integrated approach to support female members' growth, with the next workshop scheduled for January 2027 at the Japan Karate Kaikan in Tokyo.
