All Nippon Airways to launch Green Pokémon Jet on September 18

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced the launch of its ‘Green Pokémon Jet,’ a Boeing 787-9 aircraft designed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the partnership between the airline and the Pokémon franchise. The aircraft is scheduled to begin operations on September 18, with its inaugural flight departing Haneda Airport for Honolulu.

Between September 18 and March 27, 2027, the aircraft will serve several international routes. From Haneda, it will fly to destinations including Honolulu, Seattle, Vancouver, Sydney, Manila, Singapore, Delhi, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur. From Narita, the jet will operate routes to Perth, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Mumbai.

In conjunction with the aircraft launch, ANA is entering the second phase of its collaboration with the mobile game Pokémon GO. Starting September 18, 14 airports across Japan—including Kochi, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and Naha—will feature exclusive ANA-themed PokéStops and Gyms. These locations will host special in-game events, such as Bulbasaur raids and Timed Research, allowing players to encounter Pokémon with exclusive ‘Green Pokémon Jet’ themed location backgrounds.
