All Saints Church in Starachowice renovates religious sculptures

The All Saints Church in Starachowice has undergone a significant renovation of its unique gallery of religious sculptures. Located on the slanted walls above the presbytery, the collection features approximately forty carved images of saints and blesseds.

The sculptures, which were first installed in the late 1970s during the church's construction under the direction of the late priest Tadeusz Jędra, were recently removed for restoration. The project, initiated by the current parish priest Sławomir Rak, involved professional conservation work by a local firm led by Katarzyna Ziemnicka.

As part of the restoration, the sculptures were cleaned and the halos surrounding the figures were regilded. During the process, the works were temporarily displayed on the steps leading to the presbytery, allowing parishioners a rare opportunity to view the intricate craftsmanship up close before they are returned to their elevated positions.
