All Star Rodas celebrates 25 years of wheelchair basketball in Pará

A new episode of the podcast ‘Pará que Orgulha e Transforma’, available on DOLCast, explores the 25-year history of the All Star Rodas wheelchair basketball project in Pará. Hosted by journalist Haynna Hálex, the episode expands upon a special report by RBA TV.

Founded by coach Wilson Caju, the project currently manages five teams, including three male and two female squads. The initiative has produced athletes who have reached the Brazilian National Team and represented the state in international competitions. The podcast features insights from veteran athletes such as Vileide Almeida and Rildo Saldanha, highlighting how the sport fosters independence and social inclusion.

Beyond athletic achievements, the program addresses ongoing systemic challenges for people with disabilities, including the need for accessible transportation, adequate infrastructure, and public policies that support the right to sports and leisure.
