Allahyar Sayyadmanesh rejects Iran national team prospects

Allahyar Sayyadmanesh, a winger for the Polish club Lech Poznań, has expressed his intention to distance himself from the Iran national football team following his exclusion from recent call-ups. The player criticized head coach Amir Ghalenoei, alleging that the coach does not closely monitor the performances of Iranian players competing abroad.

Sayyadmanesh noted that he has received minimal playing time under the current coaching staff, totaling only about 20 minutes of play last season. He stated, “As long as this coaching staff is in charge, I do not see myself in the national team,” adding that the lack of interest from the staff is mutual.

The controversy follows comments from Saeed Al-Hawie, an assistant to Ghalenoei, who suggested Sayyadmanesh was omitted due to “moral problems.” The player has denied these claims, asserting that his conduct has never been a disciplinary issue and that he respects coaching decisions provided they are “fair.”
