Allamin Foundation advocates for women peacebuilders in Borno State

The Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development (ALFOPED), in partnership with ICAN, held a workshop in Maiduguri to mark the 2026 International Day of Peace. Under the “She Builds: 2026 Peace Campaign,” the initiative seeks to increase recognition, protection, and investment for women leading peacebuilding efforts in Borno State.

Executive Director Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin stated that the campaign involves grassroots women from 14 associations, including the Coalition of Women Mediators for Peace. The program aims to facilitate dialogue between women peacebuilders and government officials, religious leaders, and traditional rulers to identify and remove barriers to women’s participation in community peacebuilding.
