Allan Jamisen releases reflective single “Milk & Honey”
Phoenix‑based composer and painter Allan Jamisen issued the new single “Milk & Honey” on July 14. The track, inspired by his return to Phoenix after more than a decade living in Denmark, examines the disorientation of coming home to a place that feels both familiar and foreign.
Co‑produced with longtime collaborator John X Volaitis, the song blends dreamy guitar, spacey synths, mellow piano and a subtle saxophone to create a sophisticated dream‑pop/sophisti‑pop sound. Danny Saber provides electric guitar, while the vocal duet reflects Jamisen’s sense of being “a stranger in my hometown.” The lyrics question whether the city has changed or the memory of it has become romanticized, offering a nuanced meditation on identity and place.
