Allan Nielsen ordered to pay millions in Danish tax case

Former Danish national football player Allan Nielsen has lost a tax case in the Copenhagen City Court. The court ruled that Nielsen must pay approximately 5.5 million DKK in taxes regarding assets valued at 18.7 million DKK held in a company in Panama.

In addition to the tax amount, Nielsen is liable for interest on the proceedings dating back to November 2018. Estimates suggest this interest could amount to approximately 4 million DKK by August 2026, bringing the total obligation to roughly 9.5 million DKK. Nielsen, who earned 44 caps for the Danish national team between 1995 and 2002, intends to appeal the verdict through his lawyer.
