Allan Wlk targeted by Czech Republic national team
Paraguayan footballer Allan Wlk, currently playing for Lanús in Argentina, is reportedly being scouted by the Czech Republic national team due to his family heritage. Pavel Nedvěd, the general director of national teams for the Czech Republic, indicated that the federation is looking into South American players with Czech roots.
Wlk has previously shared that his paternal great-grandfather emigrated from the Czech Republic to Paraguay following World War II, settling in Colonia Independencia. While the player has represented Paraguay at the youth level, his eligibility for the Czech Republic depends on the legal complexities of citizenship acquisition for great-grandchildren.
This interest follows a trend under coach Santiago Denia Sánchez to integrate players with Czech ancestry, such as Ryan Naderi. Meanwhile, Paraguayan national team coach Gustavo Alfaro has also noted Wlk as a player to watch for the senior squad.
