Alleged drone strike in Apure leaves eight dead
Eight bodies have reportedly been taken to a morgue in San Fernando de Apure following an alleged bombing of an ELN guerrilla camp in Guafillas de El Meta, located in the Pedro Camejo municipality near the Venezuelan-Colombian border.
The attack, which reportedly occurred on Friday, October 30, has been attributed to the Venezuelan military using drones, though no official government version has been released. The deceased reportedly include two Venezuelans, two Colombians, and four Mexicans.
Local sources and the NGO FundaRedes claim the targeted camp served as a storage center for narcotics used by the ELN. Morgue workers in San Fernando reported that information regarding the identities and nationalities of the victims is being strictly controlled by competent authorities.
