Alleged PCC leader killed in shooting in Bonito

Diego Macedo Juiz, 39, an alleged leader of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal organization, was shot and killed during an armed attack in Bonito, Brazil. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday in the central region of the municipality while Juiz was driving a BMW 320i.

A passenger in the vehicle was also struck by gunfire. Emergency responders found both men unconscious inside the car. Juiz died at the scene, while the passenger was treated by firefighters and transported to a local hospital. The passenger's current medical condition has not been released.

Juiz, who used aliases such as “Proibido” and “Zebedeu,” had recently been released from prison this year. He had previously been convicted in 2021 to 14 years in prison for a 2015 homicide involving a crime that spanned the border between Brazil and Paraguay. Authorities are currently investigating the motive and the identity of the perpetrators.
