Allegro introduces new packaging standards for sellers
Allegro has introduced the ‘Allegro Packaging Standard’, a set of guidelines and recommendations developed in collaboration with sellers and logistics companies. The initiative aims to optimize parcel preparation by ensuring products are adequately protected while minimizing unnecessary materials and plastic use.
To support the program, a ‘green box’ icon will appear on listings from participating sellers. This label serves as a signal to customers that the seller has declared compliance with the standards, which include using appropriate security measures, reducing plastic, and ensuring packaging is easy to open and reusable for returns. The initiative is designed to help sellers prepare for the requirements of the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
Alicja Bieszyńska, Manager Operations Sustainability at Allegro, stated that the goal is to highlight sellers who prioritize high-quality packaging, environmental protection, and customer convenience. The platform also launched the Allegro Pack store in March to provide sellers with necessary packaging materials.
