Allershausen hosts Upper Bavarian Fishing Day 2026

The Upper Bavarian Fishing Day 2026 was held at the Anglerclub Wasserfreunde München in Allershausen. The event brought together approximately 300 officials, club chairs, and representatives from science, business, administration, and politics.

During the traditional 'Königsfischen' competition, Raphael Kiener from the Bezirksfischereiverein München was proclaimed the new Fishing King after catching a grass carp weighing 12.178 kg. Jeffrey Reichenbächer from Oberilmtal Fischer placed second with a scale carp weighing 5.690 kg.

In ceremonial speeches, Bavaria's Digital Minister Dr. Fabian Mehring and Association President Maximilian Voit addressed the future of fishing, emphasizing the need for increased support for clubs and the opportunities presented by digitalization.
