Allgäu Alps hiking route offers easy access to Wertacher Hörnle
A gentle hiking route in the Allgäu Alps offers an accessible option for beginners and families. The trail starts at the Obergschwend parking lot on the B310 and leads toward the Wertacher Hörnle.
The route passes through meadows and forests, eventually providing views of the Hörnlesee lake. The Wertacher Hörnle summit reaches an elevation of 1,695 meters and consists of three distinct peaks: the South peak, the Middle peak, and the main summit. Depending on fitness levels, the hike to the summit typically takes between one and two hours.
The trail is noted for being suitable for hikers without experience or those with children, as it avoids exposed or dangerous sections. The blooming of alpine roses in June and July is highlighted as a particularly scenic time for the excursion.
