Allgäu and Lake Constance regions offer diverse hiking and cultural attractions
Various travel recommendations highlight natural and cultural attractions in the Allgäu and Lake Constance regions. In the Allgäu, popular hiking destinations include the Lechfall near Füssen, which offers both short loops and the more challenging eight-kilometer Alpenrosenweg, as well as the Buchenegger waterfalls near Oberstaufen.
In the Lake Constance area, several free attractions are available, such as the Seeburgpark in Kreuzlingen, which features animal enclosures and a playground, and the Hochwart on Reichenau Island for panoramic views. Other options include hiking around the Hohentwiel volcanic cone and visiting the Altbodman ruins in Bodman.
For autumn visitors, the region offers quieter experiences like guided wine tastings and vineyard walks in Hagnau, Meersburg, and Immenstaad. Additionally, hiking to higher elevations like Gehrenberg or the Pfänder in Vorarlberg is recommended to escape low-lying fog.
