Allgäu hiking route from Hinterstein to Willersalpe

The Allgäu region offers various hiking opportunities during the autumn season, including a specific route from Hinterstein to the Willersalpe. The hike begins at the ‘Auf der Höh‘ parking lot in the Bad Hindelang district of Hinterstein.

Visitors should note that the Willersalpe is only open until October 4, 2026. While overnight stays are currently not possible, hikers can visit the hut to enjoy local cheese produced on the alpine pasture. The trek takes approximately one and a half hours depending on fitness levels and features forest paths, a crossing of the Willersbach via a narrow footbridge, and views of the Ponten, Zirleseck, and Gaiseck peaks.
