Allgäu mountain huts offer seasonal hiking and overnight stays

The Allgäu region in Germany offers various hiking and overnight options for beginners and families. One recommended route is a 5.6-kilometer trek from the Hochgratbahn parking lot to the Staufner Haus, located at 1,634 meters. This path is suitable for different seasons, as the Staufner Haus remains open for overnight stays during the winter months.

As autumn progresses, many mountain huts in the Oberallgäu region are approaching the end of their seasonal operations. Hikers planning trips in the coming weeks should verify opening times. Notable huts remaining open through mid-October include the Enzianhütte, Sennalpe Derb, and Alpe Schattwald. Some locations, such as the Klammwirt near Starzlachklamm, remain open until early or mid-November, while others like the Siedelalpe and Alpe Kammeregg stay open until the beginning of November.
