Alliance secured a 2-0 victory over tournament favorites FaZe Clan in their opening match at FISSURE Playground 3 in Suzhou, China. The win marks a strong return to competitive play for the Swedish side Alliance following nearly two months of inactivity.

Alliance won the first map, Ancient, with a score of 13-9. They followed this with a 13-7 victory on Nuke, completing the sweep. Despite a 26-kill performance from FaZe’s Russel ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken, the rest of the FaZe roster struggled with negative kill differentials.

The defeat sends FaZe Clan into the lower bracket of the tournament. FISSURE Playground 3 features a $1 million total prize pool, with $300,000 awarded to the winner, and includes other top-tier organizations such as G2 Esports and The MongolZ.
