Allianz Derthona clinches U19 Italian basketball championship

Allianz Derthona Tortona secured the U19 Eccellenza title by defeating Vis 2008 Ferrara 93‑69 in the national final held in Rome. The victory marked the first time a Piedmont club has captured the Italian U19 championship. Coach Vanni Talpo praised the team’s resilience, noting injuries shaped a strong defensive effort that led to the win.

Derthona’s roster featured standout performances from Andrija Josović (23 points), Edoardo Di Meo (22 points, 4/9 from three) and Omar Coulibaly (18 points, 8 rebounds). The squad also earned MVP honors for the tournament and a place in the tournament’s Best Five. The triumph caps a tournament run of five wins out of six games, with the team dominating the final from start to finish.
