Allianz pro Schiene presents five demands to Transport Minister Bilger

The Allianz pro Schiene transport alliance has presented five key demands to Germany’s new Federal Minister of Transport, Steffen Bilger, to shape long-term transport policy.

The alliance’s priorities include establishing reliable financing for rail infrastructure, such as an ‘Infraplan’ modeled after the Austrian system to provide planning security for the construction industry. They also called for capacity expansion to support growth, specifically mentioning the ‘Deutschlandtakt’ and criticizing proposed budget cuts of 145 million euros for rail freight in 2027.

Additional demands focus on resolving local and long-distance transport financing, accelerating the digitalization of rail operations—including the adoption of Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC)—and increasing federal control over Deutsche Bahn. The alliance also urged a swift resolution regarding track access pricing following a European Court of Justice ruling.
