Allied People’s Movement targets 40% of Nigeria’s votes for 2027
The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has announced its strategic goal to secure at least two-fifths of the 103 million registered voters in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election. During the inauguration of the Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation, Vice Presidential candidate Lawal Daura emphasized the need to sell the party’s programmes to achieve this target. Daura noted that the party’s presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde, aims to “reset” the country by amending or replacing existing configurations in Nigeria.
In regional developments, the Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation (LACO) criticized the exclusion of Lagos governorship candidate Laja Adeoye from a recent Gen Z town hall. Campaign advisers described the exclusion as a “missed opportunity” for young voters to engage with Adeoye’s “RESET Lagos Agenda.” The proposed agenda focuses on addressing issues such as housing, unemployment, transportation, and infrastructure, and is linked to the broader national platform led by Seyi Makinde.
