Alligator Attack Kills Briton Brittany Clark in Florida

British construction worker Brittany Clark, 31, was killed on Sunday after a roughly four‑metre alligator attacked her while she was swimming in the Econlockhatchee River within Florida's Little Big Econ State Forest. Clark was with her boyfriend, Tsans Alisson, and their roommate, Jen Ernan, when the reptile seized her, causing severe hand injuries that led to massive bleeding. Rescue crews arrived, but she died en route to the hospital.

Clark's father, Robert Clark, told the New York Post that the family was still coping with the recent death of his mother when the tragedy occurred. He criticized Florida wildlife officials for insufficient alligator population control and a lack of public warnings, noting that a child had been bitten by an alligator in the same area a day earlier and that other recent attacks had been reported.

State authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the attack, while the incident has sparked local concern over wildlife safety and calls for better management of alligator habitats.
