Allison Janney discusses fertility and marriage on podcast

Actress Allison Janney, 66, shared personal reflections regarding her decision to never marry or have children during an appearance on the ‘Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky’ podcast. Janney noted that while she grew up believing marriage was a standard life milestone, she ultimately did not follow that path.

Janney revealed that she visited a fertility specialist in her 40s after considering having children during a long-term relationship. During the visit, a doctor informed her that the odds of pregnancy were not in her favor. She also recalled that her partner at the time did not accompany her to the appointment, which she viewed as a sign regarding the relationship.

Reflecting on her past, Janney described the loneliness of remaining in relationships that she knew were not right for her, stating that being with someone while feeling alone is ‘the most lonely feeling in the world.’
