Allison plant workers in Italy oppose relocation plan

The FIM CISL Cuneo union has announced its opposition to a proposed reorganization at the Allison plant in Sommariva Perno, Italy. Union leaders Roberto Lepori and Massimo Mana have stated they will resist any attempt to close the site, characterizing the company's plan to transfer workers to a location over 50 kilometers away in Rivoli as a “disguised closure.”

The union argues that the relocation imposes significant burdens on the 180 affected employees and their families. They also noted that the move appears to contradict previous assurances made by the company to the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) regarding the preservation of Italian industrial sites.
