Allot launches consortium to develop quantum-safe communications

Allot Ltd. has announced its role as a founding member and Chair of the new Post-Quantum Communications (PQC) Consortium. Supported by the Israel Innovation Authority's Technological Infrastructure Division, the initiative aims to develop technologies to secure communication networks against future quantum computing threats that could compromise current encryption methods.

The consortium brings together nine technology companies, including NVIDIA, Ceragon, Classiq, Gilat Satellite Networks, Heqa, Elta, RAD, and Ribbon. It also partners with six academic institutions: Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, The Open University of Israel, the Technion, and the University of Haifa.

Research efforts will focus on post-quantum cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), and hybrid approaches. The group intends to evaluate solutions across seven network layers, including optical, Ethernet, IP, mobile, satellite, data center, and internet-based communications.
