Allumiere celebrates 60th Palio and municipal bicentennial

The community of Allumiere has launched the “Settimana del Palio” (Palio Week), marking the 60th edition of the Palio delle Contrade. This year’s event holds special historical weight as it coincides with the bicentennial of the foundation of the Municipality of Allumiere (1826–2026).

Artist Danila Pietrini has unveiled the “Cencio,” an acrylic work that serves as the competition trophy. The artwork depicts the Town Hall as a central symbol, flanked by the Madonna delle Grazie and a donkey with its jockey, representing the spiritual guidance and the competitive spirit of the Palio tradition.
