AllUnity launches USDAU, a MiCA-compliant USD-pegged stablecoin

AllUnity has launched USDAU, a new US dollar-pegged stablecoin designed to operate within the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework. The token is backed 1:1 by segregated reserves and will be available on six blockchain networks: Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tempo, Arc, and Polygon.

This marks AllUnity’s fourth fiat-backed stablecoin, joining its existing lineup of EURAU (euro), CHFAU (Swiss franc), and SEKAU (Swedish krona). The launch occurs as European policymakers express concern regarding the dominance of dollar-pegged tokens, which currently account for over 99% of the $291 billion global stablecoin market.

AllUnity CEO Alexander Höptner stated that the primary concern for European regulators is not the US dollar itself, but rather the flow of liquidity through offshore issuers that lack European supervision, transparent reserves, or enforceable redemption rights. He noted that USDAU aims to bring dollar liquidity under strict European regulatory oversight to support international trade and payments for regional companies.
