Allwyn UK names Phil Walker as interim CEO
Allwyn UK, the operator of the UK National Lottery, has announced that Chief Executive Andria Vidler will step down next month. Following an agreement with Chairman Justin King, Vidler will remain in an advisory capacity through the end of October 2026 to assist with the transition.
Phil Walker, a former executive from William Hill and 888, has been appointed as Interim CEO, effective September 7, 2026. Walker’s appointment is intended to drive a new phase of growth while the board conducts a search for a permanent successor.
Vidler’s tenure included overseeing a major £450 million technological upgrade, which involved migrating 18 million player records and three billion historical transactions to new platforms. This overhaul updated the lottery’s website, mobile apps, and retail technology, facilitating the launch of new products such as the UK version of Powerball.
