Almada ends municipal water supply alert
The municipal alert in Almada regarding water supply failures is set to end this coming Monday. According to the Municipal Water and Sanitation Services (SMAS), reservoir levels have remained above 70%, providing a level of stability for water management.
Since early July, the municipality has experienced successive supply failures, particularly in Costa da Caparica, leading to a municipal alert declared on July 8. Despite these disruptions and subsequent public protests, SMAS and the Almada-Seixal Local Health Unit have confirmed that the water remains safe for human consumption and meets all legal requirements.
