Almada launches noise insulation subsidies for airport-affected homes

The Almada Municipality has implemented new regulations for the ‘Less Noise Program’ to support residents affected by noise from Humberto Delgado Airport. Starting this Saturday, eligible beneficiaries can apply for financial aid of up to 5,000 euros to improve the acoustic insulation of their homes.

The subsidies, funded by the Environmental Fund, can cover up to 100% of eligible expenses for interventions on facades, windows, frames, and shutter boxes. Priority will be given to permanent residences, vulnerable families, and homes located in areas with the highest noise levels.

Almada has been allocated 318,730 euros to execute the program through the end of 2026. The affected areas include several parishes such as Almada, Cova da Piedade, Cacilhas, Pragal, Caparica, Trafaria, Charneca de Caparica, Sobreda, and Costa da Caparica. This initiative is part of a broader government program that also includes the municipalities of Lisbon, Loures, and Vila Franca de Xira.
