Almada: Man detained after using stolen police pistol

A 38-year-old Brazilian man was detained by the GNR in Costa de Caparica, Almada, after an incident involving a stolen police firearm. The suspect was reportedly using a Glock 19 9mm pistol during a domestic violence situation.

During the confrontation, the man attempted to run over a guard and physically assaulted other officers. Authorities seized the Glock 19, which was being held by the PSP as evidence in a criminal case, along with 16 rounds of ammunition and cocaine. An investigation is currently underway to determine how the suspect gained access to the weapon, which was supposed to be secured in a PSP safe.
